The GAA Store

It was back in 2005 that Padraic McKeever first brought to life from his back bedroom.

The concept was a simple one; a one-stop shop for GAA people which would bring all of the brands and products associated with Gaelic sports together under one roof (or one website, to be more accurate).

Since then, it has grown into one of the country’s e-commerce success stories, and continues to grow in stature throughout Ireland and beyond, now distributing a wide range of products to all corners of the world.

Based at Craigavon in county Armagh, the company is still very much a family-run operation, with Padraic as the managing director. Part of the globally-recognised and respected Intersport buying group, enjoys a positive reputation and is a formidable challenger in the ultra-competitive sports retail market.

As well as the website, which holds a vast array of sporting product, equipment and clothing, the company also has a “bricks and mortar” retail branch, trading as Intersport House of Sport, in a number of strategic provincial towns across the North.

The surge in demand for an alternative supplier for GAA club gear has catapulted theGAAstore to a position as one of the UK and Ireland’s biggest teamwear suppliers, with their offering of brands like Adidas, Nike, Puma and Canterbury having opened up the market, alongside the company’s McKeever on-field branded kit which continues to enjoy success on the biggest stages.

The company’s teamwear motto, “bringing global brands to local heroes,” has struck a real chord with the GAA fraternity.

It’s been a meteoric rise, and according to Padraic McKeever, the company’s brightest times and biggest days are still ahead of them.

“It has been a hair-raising roller-coaster of a ride at times. But we’re still here, we’re growing all the time and we’re hoping to push on.

“We have come a long way already, and it’s exciting and thrilling to think where the next ten years might take us and our loyal customer base. We are ready and looking forward to it, and we hope that they will come with us on what is sure to be an enjoyable journey.”
